With over 60% of Africa's population under 25 (United Nations, 2019), Gen Z is the future of consumption and are reshaping how brands communicate, innovate and engage right now. This digitally native, values-led generation demands inclusivity, authenticity and action from the brands they choose to support, says the organisation.

In front of an audience of senior leaders in marketing, advertising, media, communications and creative industries, Gen Z professionals, young marketers, content creators and influencers participate in the debate, which features a line-up of women shaping Africa's marketing and creative industries, adds the organisation.

The Line-up Includes:

  • Khensani Nobanda — Group Executive: Marketing & Corporate Affairs of Nedbank Group.
  • Kerryn Greenleaf — Brand Director of Carling Black Label, Hansa Pilsner & Lion and AB InBev.
  • Ammarah Issufo — Head of Digital, PR & Social Influence at Homecare and Unilever.
  • Senamile Zungu — Commercial Lead, Data & Gen Z Expert at Kantar.
  • Farah Medhi — Client Partner, Consumer Business at TikTok.
  • Moyin Oloruntoba — Founder of The A1 Productions; Creator Strategy & Enablement Lead and EDC Squared & TV Presenter.
  • Renissa Gounden — Director of Kantar Consulting (Moderator).

The event also features a fireside chat with Monalisa Zwambila, Founder & CEO of Riverbed Agency, on Inside Gen Z's Radius of Care: What Drives Loyalty, Ambition and Action — drawing insights from Riverbed's commissioned study on What Women Really Care About, says the organisation.

"Gen Z have already reshaped the way brands must think and act. The question now isn't actually whether we're ready, it's whether what we're doing is truly working," says Andrea Djan-Krofa, Founder of WiM Africa. "This debate is about asking harder questions, sharing richer insights and ensuring women leaders are at the forefront of shaping how our industry connects with Africa's most influential generation."

The Real Talk Debate Series, launched earlier this year in Accra, Ghana, is Women in Marketing Africa's platform for critical, pan-African conversations on the future of marketing, advertising and creative industries — viewed through the lens of gender and inclusivity. Upcoming debates will take place in Nairobi and Lagos, concludes the organisation.
